FIRM

Leahy.ps formed in 1998 to resolve divisive community association issues. With success, our mission expanded to preventing disputes as well, through a full range of legal services tailored to meet the special needs of community associations.

In 2009 Leahy.ps changed its name to Leahy McLean Fjelstad to reflect the breadth and depth of our experience and our collaborative approach to providing clear, timely, practical solutions to our clients.

Leahy McLean Fjelstad unites several unique professionals, dedicated to creating lasting solutions for the communities we serve. Terry Leahy is a born wordsmith with a knack for finding just the right words to diffuse conflict, bridge differences and strengthen strained relationships. Brian P. McLean, a frequent writer and lecturer on association law, has earned a reputation for providing his clients clear, timely, pragmatic guidance. Stephan Fjelstad, an association attorney and experienced litigator with a practice steeped in municipal and land-use law, brings an effective and focused approach to our clients and assignments.

Jennifer A. Valenta brings over fifteen years of legal experience that includes drafting and revising plat and homeowner association governing documents, risk management and financial analysis for associations, and contract drafting and negotiation specific to associations.

Emily F. Dahl brings her background in corporate consulting, systems analysis, work for the State Legislature, courtroom experience, and success as a staff attorney and law clerk at the Washington State Court of Appeals to her community association law practice at Leahy McLean Fjelstad.

Allison N. Peryea has substantial courtroom experience in real estate and commercial litigation. She has a track record of success in mediation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, the discovery process, and pre- and post-trial motion practice. She is the 2010-11 editor in chief of De Novo, the Washington State Bar Association's Young Lawyer Division publication, and serves as chair of the Young Lawyers Division Editorial Advisory Committee.

Support Staff. Our support staff offers a friendly no-nonsense approach to running the office, completing assignments, and getting your work out the door on time.

What most unites us is our fascination with this area of law and our admiration for those of you who devote your time to serving your neighbors.
